A big wind and hydroplaning on a wet highway

Intense and unsettling, that was the day. All this horrible crap I am watching my people deal with in my job really got to me today. Yup, I sure did. Its what happens when ya move into it. I am really listening, hearing the magnitude but trying too hard to say and do all the right things. When things aren't right to begin with there really can't be a right thing be said or done. Right?

"Its gonna be OK?".... is it?

The day ended with my kids sharing their triumphs with me. Queen Victoria Lumen, aka Flicker (pictured here) learned how to do a back flip on the tramp. Miss Jelly Jar Lumen seemed very happy to be herself again after a bout with teenaged-girl syndrome for a few days. The little girl with the bump on her little head seems to be winning her battle against the infection she picked up during her surgery a few weeks back. This is good and we can only hope that she will be doing the hokey poky again soon.

The lake in my basement has left me for the friendly confines of the aquifer and a most pleasant surprise....... I was invited to a concert tomorrow.

So my morning started with hydroplaning bald tires over a wet interstate and the night greeted me with a very strong, unsettling west wind. I held the highway, didn't blow away in the gale and, by the time I arrived home, my tires had tread and the winds were diminished.

ahhh now aint that a happy ending.
