It doesn't seem all that super to me. Its cold, windy and there are many too many people driving around without much thought for their fellow humans. I'm not feeling it yet but I will soon... hopefully.
Interesting.... to look down at the speedometer as I get closer to my house and notice that I am only going 20 miles an hour. What's the rush?
3:30 PM and the sun is already trying to sneak a kiss with the horizon. When it goes down, the darkness comes fast. I suppose it could be dark all the time like it is in Alaska now. At least there would be some hope of being saved by the Aurora.
The best show I ever saw was on a crazy september trip we made deep into Quebec a few years back for my nephew's wedding. I guess you could say that "it was a couple of 'we's ago. Just as the last song ended at the reception, the northern sky suddenly exploded into light. Everyone at the party noticed and immediately headed down to the lake shore for a better view. Maybe the mother-in-law didn't approve of the union that occurred a few hours earlier but it sure seemed like god did. The lights played a short set and then took a long break. When they returned, they did so with much more glory. The Aurora was of "National Geographic" proportion, a colorful dance that swayed back and forth with fingers of white atop colorful curtain as the back drop . We awoke my youngest and brought her out onto the back deck to see them. It her groggy state, she managed to thank us. To this very day I am very thankful to have shared that show with two folks whom I really love, who were just as excited to see it as I was.
I may have written about this before, I'm not sure.
